My trip to Taiwan was not only for leisure but also to visit the world's tallest building which is the Taipei 101 Building in Taipei city Hsinyi District. Basically Taiwanese are doing a good job in preserving the 5000 years of Chinese tradition and culture by protecting old architecture relics. In this building what I can see is that the design really reflects the Chinese culture by having oriental elements as part of the design. The Taipei 101 rises in eight canted sections, as u know 8 is a lucky number for the Chinese, the eight sections of the structure are designed to create rhythm in symmetry. The exterior walls of each section are embellished with a "Ruyi", a traditional Chinese symbol of fulfillment and content.
